Did Morgan Wallen Win Any Awards Last Night in CMA 2023?

Since its inaugural presentation in 1967, the CMA Awards have showcased the finest vocalists to a global audience, with thirteen distinct categories bestowing recognition upon different artists.

Since a chosen artist or singer is honoured annually in each category, it is difficult for competitors to maintain a winning run. Vocalists like this year’s amazing Morgan Wallen are strong candidates for these honours.

So, what honours did Morgan Wallen receive this year? Nope. Morgan Wallen was nominated for three awards this year: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year. Despite having the most successful year as a country artist, Wallen didn’t win in any of the categories.

CMA 2023: Did Morgan Wallen Win Any Awards This Year?

Born in Sneedville, Tennessee, Morgan Wallen has only been in the country music industry for four years. In that time, he has been nothing short of amazing, but he has yet to win a single CMA Award.

He actually faced tough opposition from Lainey Wilson since he was nominated in three categories this year: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (One Thing At A Time), and Male Vocalist of the Year.

But Morgan Wallen hasn’t taken home a single trophy from the 57th Annual CMA Awards, which has left both his supporters and detractors with conflicting feelings.

Chris Stapleton won Male Vocalist of the Year over him, despite Lainey Wilson defeating him in the Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year (Bell Bottom Country) categories.

This year, his album One Thing At A Time has soared to the top of the charts. His song Last Night debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album itself debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200.

The singer implied that he is still a winner even though he did not win the honours when he said, “Walked in tonight a winner, didn’t leave no different,” on his Instagram story after the ceremony.

Many of Morgan Wallen’s supporters and a number of other music lovers criticised the award presentation, accusing Morgan Wallen of being robbed as he arguably had the finest year out of all the contestants.
